Fugitive Anmol Bishnoi, Key Accused in Baba Siddique Murder, Deported from U.S.

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a wanted fugitive in several criminal cases in India, has been deported from the United States, according to official sources and publicly available federal notifications.

An alert issued through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s automated notification system on Tuesday stated that Bishnoi “has been removed from the United States by the federal government.” Indian officials confirmed that he is being sent back on a special deportation flight bound for New Delhi.

According to media reports citing government sources, the aircraft carrying Bishnoi is scheduled to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. There has been no official confirmation yet that the flight has landed.

Bishnoi is wanted in India in connection with multiple cases, including the killing of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique. Indian agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), have been tracking his activities abroad, where he is believed to have been coordinating operations linked to the Bishnoi crime syndicate.

While some reports have claimed that other Indian nationals, including fugitives and undocumented migrants, are also aboard the same deportation flight, authorities have not officially confirmed the number or identity of other passengers.

Anmol Bishnoi reportedly fled India in May 2022 using a fake passport issued under the name “Bhanu,” according to investigative reports, and subsequently entered the United States, where he remained underground for more than two years. He was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in November 2024 and has since been held at the Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa, a facility commonly used to house federal immigration detainees awaiting removal or transfer. His detention there continued until his placement on a U.S. government deportation flight this week.
