Fortunate to play Ramanujan's onscreen wife: Indian-American actress

Indian origin-American actress Devika Bhisé says she is fortunate to play the female protagonist in Matthew Brown’s upcoming project ”The Man Who Knew Infinity”, a biopic on Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
While Dev Patel will play Ramanujan, Devika will be seen as his wife Janaki.
Based on the biography of the same name by Robert Kanigel, the film also stars Oscar Award winner Jeremy Irons who plays Ramanujan’s mentor, G.H. Hardy.
“I feel fortunate to be able to portray such a rich character who has had a fascinating life,” Devika said in a statement.
“My extensive training in Bharatanatyam has helped me understand the intricacies of the Tamilian Brahmin Iyengar culture community, which gives me a lot of insight for this particular role,” added the actress who was born and raised in Manhattan.
Most recently, Devika appeared in Partial Comfort’s off-Broadway production – ”And Miles To Go” and has a supporting role in an episode of the upcoming MTV series – “One Bad Choice”.
