FBI Hunting Fugitive Charged in Mail and Wire Fraud Conspiracy

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

London, Kentucky, February 28, 2026: The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a public notice seeking information on the whereabouts of Kalpeshkumar Rasikbhai Patel, who is wanted on a federal charge of mail and wire fraud conspiracy.

According to the FBI, Patel, 34, is alleged to have participated in a nationwide scheme between 2017 and 2021 that defrauded multiple victims into transmitting large sums of money. Many victims were reportedly contacted by telephone and told their personal information or identities were linked to criminal activity. Investigators allege they were then persuaded to send funds — often in the form of cash and prepaid debit cards — to addresses across the United States.

A federal arrest warrant for Patel was issued on June 22, 2023, by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky in London, Kentucky, after he was formally charged with mail and wire fraud conspiracy.

Patel, who also uses the aliases “Mecco,” “Kenny,” “Kenny Patel,” “Kalpeshkumar R. Patel,” and “Kalpesh Patel,” was born on May 17, 1991, in India. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His listed occupations include fuel station attendant, cashier, and store worker.

The FBI said Patel is believed to be residing in or traveling between Illinois and Pennsylvania. He is considered a fugitive from justice.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Patel’s whereabouts to contact the FBI.
