NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Cincinnati, OH, July 29, 2025: Procter & Gamble has appointed its Chief Operating Officer Shailesh Jejurikar as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Jejurikar becomes only the second non–U.S.–born CEO in the consumer goods giant’s 188-year history, and the first Indian-born to hold the position, marking a significant moment in the company’s leadership journey.
Jejurikar, 58, will succeed Jon Moeller, who has served as CEO since 2021. Moeller will transition to the role of Executive Chairman on the same day, providing strategic counsel to the board. The company announced that Jejurikar has also been nominated for election to its board of directors at the October 2025 annual shareholder meeting.
Born in Mumbai, India, Jejurikar earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Mumbai University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. He joined Procter & Gamble in 1989 as an assistant brand manager in India and rose through the ranks over 36 years, holding leadership roles across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Before being named COO in 2021, Jejurikar led the company’s global Fabric and Home Care division, which includes well-known brands such as Tide, Ariel, Downy, and Febreze. As COO, he oversaw P&G’s enterprise markets—Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe—and managed key functions including IT, sales, manufacturing, and distribution.
The leadership change comes amid a broader restructuring at P&G that includes plans to cut about 7,000 non-manufacturing jobs over two years, streamline its portfolio, and target $1–1.6 billion in efficiency gains. The company’s most recent quarterly results reported a 2 percent year-over-year rise in revenue to $20.9 billion, with projected sales growth of 1 to 5 percent for the 2026 fiscal year.
