NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Irving, TX, October 25, 2025: A roadside demonstration by masked men near the intersection of a major thoroughfare in Irving on October 24 has raised concerns among Hindu and Indian American communities about escalating racial and religious tensions. The protest, publicly posted by Take Action Texas on X (formerly Twitter), targeted what the group described as “recent ‘Diwali’ garbage” and linked demographic changes in the city to labor imports from India via the H‑1B visa program.
The X post said:
“In response to all the recent ‘Diwali’ garbage, we hit a couple different spots in Irving – a city that has been ravaged by H-1B scams and massive demographic shifts due to labor imports coming from India.”
Attached to the post were four photographs showing individuals standing on sidewalks in Irving, holding U.S. flags and placards. Some signs featured slogans such as “Don’t India My Texas” “Reject Foreign Demons”, and “H-1B scams = jobs lost,” according to publicly visible images.
The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) responded to the post, warning of escalating anti-Indian and anti-Hindu sentiment.
“H1-B criticism morphed into online Hinduphobia and anti-Indian racism. Then city council members and political candidates began calling for mass deportations,” HAF said on X. “Now masked men are loitering on sidewalks calling Hindu divinity ‘foreign demons.’ What’s next? We must be prepared.”
No official response has been issued by the City of Irving as of Friday.
