Acclaimed Indian Restaurant Ghee Brings Fine-Dining Experience to Atlanta

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Atlanta, GA, October 19, 2025: Atlanta’s culinary landscape is about to welcome a new addition with the arrival of Ghee Indian Kitchen, an award-winning Miami-based restaurant known for elevating Indian cuisine with a contemporary, ingredient-driven approach. The restaurant will open its first location outside Florida on October 23 at 1050 Howell Mill Road in West Midtown.

Founded by chef Niven Patel and restaurateur Mo Alkassar, Ghee has built a reputation as one of the country’s most acclaimed modern Indian restaurants. Its Miami locations have consistently appeared in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand list, praised for their fresh take on traditional Indian flavors and emphasis on locally sourced produce — much of it grown at Patel’s own farm in Homestead, Florida.

The Atlanta outpost aims to offer a refined dining experience that goes beyond conventional Indian restaurant fare. Guests can expect dishes such as smoked lamb neck curry, turmeric-marinated fish with coconut and fennel, and house-made dosas, as well as a curated 13-course tasting menu designed to showcase regional Indian flavors in a contemporary format.

The beverage program will feature cocktails inspired by Indian spices and tropical ingredients, Indian wines from the Nashik region, and a selection of craft beers.

Located in the Star Metals complex, the 5,300-square-foot space is designed to seat around 155 guests and combines modern aesthetics with traditional Indian elements. Features include a striking “spice wall” where spices are freshly ground, shell-inlaid mirrors, and handcrafted furnishings intended to reflect Indian craftsmanship.

“Ghee is about telling a story through food — about the ingredients, the techniques, and the traditions behind them,” Patel said in an earlier interview. “We want to offer guests a deeper experience of Indian cuisine.”

Ghee’s arrival signals a shift in Atlanta’s Indian dining scene, where upscale, chef-driven concepts remain relatively rare. The restaurant’s focus on seasonal produce, contemporary plating, and thoughtful beverage pairings places it firmly in the city’s growing fine-dining sector, while also serving as a cultural touchstone for the region’s expanding Indian American community.

The opening comes at a time when Atlanta’s restaurant scene is broadening its global offerings, with diners showing increasing interest in innovative interpretations of traditional cuisines.

Ghee Indian Kitchen opens to the public on October 23. Reservations are available through OpenTable.
