Johns Creek to Vote on $40M Bond for Performing Arts Center in November elections

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Johns Creek, GA, June 27, 2025:  The Johns Creek City Council has approved a bond referendum that could pave the way for a performing arts center in the city. The referendum will appear on the ballot during the upcoming municipal election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, giving residents the opportunity to vote on whether to authorize the issuance of general obligation bonds not exceeding $40 million.

If passed, the bond funding would go toward the construction, installation, and equipping of a performing arts center, along with associated parking and sidewalk infrastructure. While detailed designs have yet to be finalized, conceptual plans include an approximately 800-seat performance hall and a multi-purpose room to accommodate a range of events—from symphonies and theater productions to graduations and community meetings.

“This referendum demonstrates the importance of this project and our desire to empower the residents to weigh in on the future of our community,” said Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry.

City officials said cost estimates and detailed construction projections have been prepared in anticipation of the vote. The envisioned facility aims to serve as a cultural and civic hub for Johns Creek, enhancing quality of life and providing a dedicated venue for arts and community programming.

The City of Johns Creek plans to release additional information and educational materials about the bond referendum beginning in late July. An outreach campaign will follow to help voters make an informed decision before heading to the polls in November.
