India Press Club of North America Atlanta chapter inaugurated

Atlanta, November 15, 2024: The India Press Club of North America (IPCNA) Atlanta Chapter held its grand inauguration ceremony at the Carmel Marthoma Center, drawing community members, journalists, and distinguished guests for a night of celebration, cultural performances, and unity.

The event, which took place on November 9, saw Kajal Zachariah sworn in as the new chapter’s President. He was joined by Shiny Aboobacker as Vice President, Binu Kasim as Secretary, Anu Shibu as Joint Secretary, Thomas Joseph as Treasurer, and Sadik Pulikkaparambil as Joint Treasurer.

The ceremony was graced by notable figures, including Sunil Tristar, IPCNA National President; Sunil Thaiymattom, Board Chairman; George Joseph, Founding President; Visakh Cherian, National Treasurer; and Shijo Paulose, General Secretary. The event’s Chief Guests, Dilip Mullaveettil and Kiana Perkins, Secretary to U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, were warmly welcomed by attendees.

The inauguration was followed by several cultural programs that showcased the rich heritage and talent within the community. Highlights included a captivating mimicry performance by famous artist Sabu Thiruvalla, which left the audience in splits and set a joyful tone for the evening.

In his address, Kajal Zachariah spoke about the chapter’s vision and the importance of fostering a strong press community that can act as a bridge between the Indian diaspora and the broader American society. The evening concluded with enthusiastic networking among guests, marking the beginning of a new chapter for IPCNA in Atlanta.–
