High School Innovators Create DriveQuest App to Boost Teen Road Safety

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Atlanta, GA, September 12, 2025: A team of local high school students received awards at both the state and international levels for their AI-powered teen driving app that aims to make roads safer for everyone.

In early April, the group captured first place in the state-level TiE Young Entrepreneurs Competition, winning a $1,500 prize for their innovative concept. Their victory didn’t stop there: the students went on to compete in TiE’s Global Pitch Competition, where they were recognized with the “Best Business Execution” award for the clarity, feasibility, and professionalism of their presentation.

Their project centers on a mobile application designed specifically for new drivers. By monitoring real-time data—speed, acceleration, braking force, and more—the app generates a personalized “Drive Score” that communicates safe driving habits at a glance. Behind the scenes, machine-learning algorithms analyze each driver’s patterns and deliver personalized coaching tips, helping teens understand exactly where they can improve.

“We believe that better feedback leads to better habits,” the group said. “If we can give young drivers clear, actionable insights, we can reduce risky behaviors and keep our community safer.”

The students have already completed a working prototype and are finalizing features for their first minimum-viable product launch, expected in late September to early October. County officials and local mentors have praised the team’s rapid progress and dedication to making the community a safer place.

With their MVP just weeks away, DriveQuest offers parents and new drivers a smart approach to road safety—right from their smartphone. If you want to give your teenager the confidence and guidance they need to build safer habits on the road, look no further than DriveQuest: an app made for teens, by teens.
