NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Phoenix, AZ, July 23, 2025: A 31-year-old former behavioral health technician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been arrested and charged with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to court documents unsealed last week.
Authorities allege that Jaydeep Patel was in possession of multiple files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), discovered following a tip from his internet service provider in late 2024. Investigators say nine “cybertips” were generated, leading to a search of Patel’s home and electronic devices. The search reportedly uncovered more than 1,200 images and videos depicting minors.
Patel was taken into custody at his Phoenix residence on July 17, 2025. Court filings further allege that he used multiple online identities to request and store explicit content involving minors. Some messages referenced in the documents describe him admitting to inappropriate interests.
Phoenix Children’s Hospital confirmed Patel was no longer employed there and stated he had cleared standard background checks at the time of hiring. The hospital also emphasized that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Patel’s role at the hospital was as a behavioral health technician; investigators said he had misrepresented himself as a security officer in some online exchanges.
Patel faces nine felony charges and remains in custody while legal proceedings continue. Authorities have not indicated that any of the alleged offenses involved patients or took place on hospital grounds.
The case remains under investigation.
