NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
New Delhi, July 12, 2025: The U.S. Embassy in India has issued a strong reminder to visa holders that American immigration authorities continue to monitor compliance even after a visa is granted.
In a recent post on social media platform X, the embassy stated, “U.S. visa screening does not stop after a visa is issued. We continuously check visa holders to ensure they follow all U.S. laws and immigration rules – and we will revoke their visas and deport them if they don’t.”
The message serves as a cautionary note to both current and prospective travelers to the United States, emphasizing that visa approval is not a permanent guarantee of entry or stay. Violations of U.S. laws or immigration policies may result in serious consequences, including visa revocation and deportation.
The post has sparked significant discussion among Indian nationals, especially students, professionals, and families with non-immigrant visas, who form one of the largest groups of U.S. visa applicants worldwide.
The U.S. government has been tightening post-entry monitoring procedures, using data-sharing systems and inter-agency coordination to identify visa violations.
