Association for India's Development (AID) recently launched its year-end fundraiser called One for India (OFI). This year AID aims to raise $101,000 to support its initiatives in 2005, and to make the community aware of AID's activities. “Donate to AID and we promise that your ONE contribution will count and make a positive difference in India,” says a press release issued to NRIPulse.
“What can ONE do? ONE can make a difference - a difference in the lives of the most underprivileged sections in the Indian society. Your contribution - ONE drop, you may say - will create a ripple, and form a wave - a wave of social and economic development across the length and breadth of rural India,” says the release. The one could be a dollar a day, a day’s salary, percentage of one’s salary, or one day of the week.
