NEW YORK – Saturday June 17th proved to be a memorable evening for many as the Nirali Designs Rhythm Runway Fashion Show (www.RhythmRunway.com) was presented to an elite audience at one of New York City’s well renowned venues, Webster Hall. Intense Management placed a unique perspective on things when it brought together Fashion and Music in an event appropriately named Rhythm Runway. The event might as well have been something you saw at Fashion Week as part of the Versace and the Tommy Hilfiger collection.
“One of the main questions I always get asked as a designer is where does my inspiration come from when I create my collections...this event, the way Rhythm Runway was presented was as if Intense Management and the entire Nirali Designs team took on the challenging task of what was playing in my mind and placing it on a runway....in fact when I was creating this years Desi Revolution collection I played Raghav's Story Teller CD over and over and this whole experience really took me back to all those elements that went into creating each piece, for the first time I think the audience of a fashion show really got to see what goes on in the mind of me as a designer....this simultaneous flow of creative energy fueled by music, dance, and drama all coming together in the form of a final garment or collection...Rhythm Runway truly personified the term inspiration and conveyed to the world exactly how all my brands came to life and what their true source of inspiration is...for the first time I think people will get to see what kind of a magical and fantastical world exists inside my mind when I design and look at the world in general and how my ideas get conjured up...it was a really exciting experience to be able to share that with audience and the participants,” said designer Nirali of Nirali Designs.
Nirali Designs (www.NiraliDesigns.com) was able to do what a few have done in giving us a glimpse of today and tomorrow, pop culture and elegance, all in one night. Performances by hearthrob Raghav and the sultry Tina Sugandh were just a few of the highlights of the night which also included a performance by two aerialists hanging over 50 feet high on thin cloth, a pyro juggling bartendar and a finale that included the launch of the newest brand of Nirali Designs, Mamta Maternity. The evening began with a live performance by Raghav followed by Tina Sugandh as the runway was filled with clothing from the Desi Revolution Collection. The Desi Revolution Brand is part of the Retail Division of Nirali Designs created for the new desi generation. The brand creates fun and fresh styles with urban flare and desi roots and can be found at various clothing stores across the U.S. such as Sahil Exclusives in Chicago, Attache in New York, Silver Tulip in New Jersey, Poshaak Boutique & Salon in Texas and Ahlisan Fashion Fabrics in California.
The evening was filled with star celebrity hosts such as Ms India USA 2004 - Reshoo Pande and Ms India Worldwide 2006 - Trina Chakravarty along with Actress Shetal Shah, Larry Thompson and Ashiq Abbas all of whom wore customized pieces from the Red Carpet brand as did the performing stars – Raghav, Tina Sugandh and Bidisha Sinha. Both the Red Carpet Brand and the Competitive Dancewear Brand are a part of the customized division of Nirali Designs and are available through one on one consultations with the Nirali Designs team. Mrs. World 2001 and Bollywood Actress, Aditi Govitrikar was the star female model for the show’s finale which was the presentation of the secret new brand designed for expecting mothers, appropriately called Mamta Maternity. Nirali Designs is the first clothing company in the world to offer maternity wear for the desi community proving that pregnancy can now also be synonymous with style and elegance. The Mamta Maternity brand of clothing can also be found in retail clothing stores.
The event was managed and marketed by Intense Management (www.IntenseOnline.com), a South Asian Event Management Company. The show would not possible without the support of the sponsors of the show which included: DesiClub.com, Anokhi Magazine, IndianParty.com, House of Dipali, Redhed Graphics, Shoe Palace, Comfort Inn, Deb’s Images, Day’s Inn, Sahil Exclusive, Internet@Work, Hotels Development & Mgmt Inc., Gem Wave Inc, Jewel Exim Inc, Rg Financial Services, & Dr. Mukhi.
