NJTS Raises Funds For Tsunami Relief

New Jersey Tamil Sangam (NJTS) has now raised about $15,000 for the Tsunami victims in India as of January 15, 2005. This was achieved through a program organized by NJTS at East Brunswick High School on January 15, 2005. The program included children’s show and a light music concert by Symphony Ramani group. The donations collected at the gate amounted for $15,000. The Symphony group performed for this charitable event at no cost. Seven Families provided home made food for sale at the event and donated the money to the Tsunami relief fund. The East Brunswick school authorities provided the school auditorium at a reduced cost.
All the proceeds collected through this event will be donated to the Tsunami victims through the appropriate organizations approved by the NJTS Committee. NJTS thank its members and Symphony Ramani group for solidarity and support to the Tsunami victims.
NJTS is a secular, non-profit, non-partisan organization serving New Jersey area since 1989. The details of the organization and its activities can be found in the website www.njtamilsangam.info.
