Indian Cultural Association (ICA) at the University of Iowa will hold its annual dance competition, Nachte Rahon, on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City. The competition has featured college and dance teams from around the country vying for a grand prize of $1000 and a second place prize of $500. Admission to the show will include a fully catered Indian dinner as well as unforgettable entertainment.
Teams of 5-14 dancers are invited to participate. All participants must have a valid college ID and/or be 18 years of age or older. Team registration fee includes admission to the show, dinner, and one complimentary room per team in the Nachte Rahon host hotel the night of the show. Registration ends on February 5, 2005.
Since its inception in 2002, the ICA has become one of the fastest-growing organizations in the history of the University of Iowa. Its mission is to present a platform for students to interact and share the joy of the Indian culture and heritage as well as promoting the awareness of cultural diversity. Nachte Rahon, ICA’s main event, has become nationally recognized since its launch in 2003.
