Ash To Appear On CBS 60 Minutes
Rai Talks About Her Future in American Films & Screen Kissing
NRIPULSE NEWS DESK

India's top film actress has chosen to appear on 60 MINUTES to speak to millions in America who will soon be able see her in Hollywood movies. Aishwarya Rai discusses her life and addresses her upcoming Hollywood career - including screen kissing - in the interview with Bob Simon to be broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 2 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The most popular actress in the world will be seen and heard on the most popular news program in America. 60 MINUTES, now in its 37th season and the most successful U.S. television program ever, averages 15.5 million viewers each week in the U.S.

Rai also discusses with Simon the customs in her native India, winning the Miss World contest and her beautiful looks that have led to the perception that she is the prettiest woman in the world.

The high point of the interview is when she acknowledges that her venture into Hollywood is controversial, not just because of screen kissing, but that some of her Indian fans may not want to share her. "And then again, there are so many Indians who have expressed so much pride," she tells Simon. "They look at this as such a positive possibility because there has not been that strong of a representation of the Indian in Hollywood," says Rai.
