Asian/Pacific American Council of Georgia, Inc. (APAC) has announced its 2005 Board of Officers.

Dr. Narsi L. Narasimhan of India American Cultural Association (IACA) was elected president. Yoon Kim of Korean Association of Greater Atlanta (KAC) is the vice president for 2005. Chaiwon Kim of the Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS) was named treasurer and Jim Hiett of the Filipino-American Association of Greater Atlanta (Fil-AM) was named secretary.

Asian/Pacific American Council of Georgia, Inc. was incorporated in the state of Georgia in 1985 as a 501 (C) (3) non-profit, non-partisan social organization. It serves as the umbrella organization of various Asian/Pacific organizations in Georgia. APAC was organized for the purpose of promoting full participation of Asian/Pacific Americans in the American society while at the same time maintaining their Asian/Pacific cultural heritage; facilitating cultural and religious practices of Asian/Pacific Americans; encouraging and promoting the participation of Asian/Pacific American cultural education; and promoting respect for the ideals envisioned in the Constitution of the United States.

This is a keynote year for APAC as it celebrates its 20th year of service to the Georgia Asian/Pacific community. APAC has recently concluded its own fund raising campaign for tsunami relief and continues to solicit additional funds under the direction of Atlanta United Asians-Americans (AUAA). APAC is currently feverishly planning its annual banquet celebrating Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month to be held in early May. APAC will continue to serve the community with additional events throughout the year.
