Hit Gujarati Play Comes To Atlanta On April 27

A super hilarious Gujarati Comedy play, Tu Chee Lajawaab, starring popular stage and TV actress Sarita Joshi comes to Atlanta on April 27. The hit comedy will be staged at the Sardar Patel Bhavan, Gujarati Samaj Hall in Tucker.

"Tu Chee Lajawaab" is the story of a middle-aged woman Kaumudi Mehta, who is trapped in different relationships. She is the wife of DP - Dwarkaprasad, mother of DP's children Harry and Tanu, sister-in-law (bhabhi) of DP's brother Prashant and his new bride Rashmi.

Kaumudi a.k.a. Moti, was the oldest among seven siblings. That is why her parents and everybody else used to call her Moti. She was expected her to adjust with her younger siblings also. While her younger siblings got chocolate, she used to get just the wrapper. As the oldest, she was supposed to be generous and understanding.

This stamp of Moti never got erased even in her in laws' house. She was a Moti Vahu in DP's house and the adjective moti continued to remain with her. As an eldest child, she compromises. And in her in-laws' house too, she had to compromise - because she was Moti Vahu - to the extent that the precious days of her youth got wasted.

Did she succeed in her mission? Did she ever become a complete woman? The answer lies in the hilarious production made with the twin purposes of underlining the irony of social system and entertainment.
Sarita Joshi was born in Pune but raised in Vadodara and started her acting career on the Gujarati stage as a child actress. Joshi soon got an offer to be part of traditional theatre and started working with wellknown artistes like Shanta Apte.
At Present Sarita Joshi is essaying the role of Baa in the super hit family entertainer `Baa Bahu Aur Baby`. In the recent past Joshi received international fame because of her character portrayal in the Abhishek Bachchan starrer `Guru` directed by the renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Out of all the mediums she holds a special corner for theater and stage performances. She claims that the joy of performing on stage is any time better than anything else and that theater will always be her first love. She also wants to go back to theater provided that she gets a good script to display her acting potential.
