Atlanta residents Vikram Chaudhary and Sunil Sharma excelled
at the 16th United States National Taekwondo Federation
International Taekwondo Championship held at Tifton College
Stadium in Chicago, Illinois July 25 to 27, 2008.
Vikram Chaudhary competed in the Senior Black Belt 1st Dan
Poomse Category and won 1 Gold Medal & 2 Silver Medals
defeating Michael from California, Oscar and Nester from
Chicago. Vikram gave a tough fight to Oscar Ortiz from
Chicago with high kicks in sparring and excellent powerful
techniques and won Silver Medal in the Gyroogi Competion.
In the Breaking Competition, whereas the other players broke
one wooden plank with simple kicks, Vikram Chaudhary broke
two boards with jumping high roundhouse kick. Vikram
received applause from the hall full of spectators with the
cheers, clappings and victory shouting.
The competition was organized in various events like Black
Belt Category, Senior Black Belt Category & Junior Black
Belt Category. Vikram was also selected to officiate as a
Judge & Central Referee for the Color Belt Taekwondo
Category. He is also a well known Judge and Referee at the
various State, National & International Taekwondo Events
organized all over the Country.
Yogakondo Grand Master Sunil D. Sharma demonstrated a
combination of roundhouse and back spinning kicks with
amazing speed at his opponent Arthur from Puerto Rico which
won him a Gold Medal in the Senior Black Belt Category.
Grand Master Sunil Sharma also won Silver Medal in the 16th
USNTF International Poomse Taekwondo Championships held at
Chicago, Illionois between July 25th and 27th, 2008.
