Street playhouse Atlanta, GA will certainly be colorful and cheerful with captivating women cavorting the catwalk on the Mrs. India International ramp this May 24th and 25th, 8pm-11pm.
With the mission “To Make a Difference” Mrs. International was developed to showcase women 21 to 56 years old, married at least six months and a resident of the state or a citizen of the country she represents. Each contestant competes in an Interview Competition, which is valued for 50% of her overall score, Evening Gown, valued for 25% and Fitness Wear for 25%. Each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice that she spends the year promoting. Husbands are a direct part of the show, escorting their wives in the Evening Gown competition, and the husband crowns his wife title holder. The main objectives are to provide a global platform for Indian married women to showcase their accomplishments and an opportunity to contribute at a larger level to select charities who work for deserving but unfortunate children
Based on family values, The International Pageant system has been developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage “We want to use Mrs. India International Pageant to promote the family values of respect, compassion, honesty and tolerance. We want to provide a global platform for showcasing the achievements of international married Indian women. Mrs. India International is a part of the Mrs. International Pageant System, which is in existence since the '80s. It is based on family values and looks for complete beauty of the married women - how she balances her persona, family, professional life and what she does for the society/community.” says Adrita Khanna, Director Mrs. India International 2012 Pageant and Mrs. India International 2008.
Three contestants, Pooja Jain, Shaveta Jain and Anindita Saha from Atlanta are in the running for the coveted crown. “I am participating in the contest because I would like to spread the awareness for the noble cause of organ donation which is easy and feasible for all of us and it was my dream since my childhood to enter into such field.”
Pooja Jain, who hails from the City of Lakes, Bhopal, tells us. Daughter of Suresh and Rekha Jain, and the oldest of three sisters, Pooja is married to Pradeep Jain. Pooja, a software professional, Pooja believes an ideal contestant must have “'Beauty with Brain',self
Independence, confidence, cultural and family values,c
ommited to family and society. And last but not the least. motivation.
”So far the experience being in the contest is really awesome and looking forward with more
enthusiasm. I would like to say thanks to Adrita Khanna who
has provided such a wonderful platform for married women to spread their views all over the world.” She says about her experience in the contest so far.
“I entered this contest to promote my platform that I strongly believe in, i.e., "Family Values". I feel this contest will help me promote the importance of preserving our culture, our traditions, our language and passing them down to the generations so it doesn't get lost.” says Shaveta
Jain. Born and Bred in Delhi, holds a Post Graduate degree in Mathematics from IIT Delhi. Shaveta is married to Anuj Jain whom she met in IIT. Mother of two daughters, Nikita (12) and Ananya (8), Shaveta and her family are active member of DJSGA. .
Together as a family we love to celebrate our festivals with our family and friends here.” She adds. A Software Engineer by profession, Shaveta completed her Masters in Computer Science from Southern Polytechnic, GA with straight A's. Shaveta believes “The Ideal Mrs. India International must be a loving wife, an affectionate and proud mother, a trustworthy friend and a dependable member of the society. She should be confident, graceful, honest person, and believe in working towards the community to make it a better place for all.”
Shaveta says she enjoyed meeting other contestants
and Director of the pageant, Adrita Khanna. Speaking about her experience so far, Shaveta says “This contest not only gave me an opportunity to showcase my work towards my platform via social networking sites like Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MrsIndiaIntl2012) but also to pamper myself. I took this opportunity to have alliance with different fashion clothing vendors and professional hair and makeup artist from all around Atlanta."
