For the tenth year, Raksha will hold its famous fundraiser Ek Shaam Raksha Ke Naam at the Gwinnett Center on Saturday, September 20, 2008. This year's exciting show will be the third annual Idol contest, The Rhythm of Ek Shaam – Idol 2008 which will feature a song competition in two categories, adult and junior.

Event coordinators are seeking solo singers to perform in the final show. Auditions will be held through radio broadcasts (Spice Radio – May 17th & 31st at 6 pm.); through mail with a CD or taped audition; or at a pre-event show on August 9th. Those qualifying for the second round of auditions on August 17th & August 23rd will be required to provide a minimum $20 donation to participate in the final contest. All applicants making it to the second round of auditions will receive a free ticket to The Rhythm of Ek Shaam. Participants will be judged by musical and theater professionals from the local South Asian community.
