On May 31 evening, Bengali Association of Greater Atlanta,
commonly known as BAGA hosted "Kobi Jayanti" in the North
Atlanta High School Auditorium to celebrate the 147th
birthday of the Nobel Laureate poet Tagore and other
literary geniuses born in Bengal, whose mighty pen sketched
India on the World map through a long marching journey
filled with history, tears, smiles, wishes, sacrifices and
eternal songs. Their voices gave meaning to our lives,
freedom and the future!
It was an evening filled with cheer and glee. The kids
looked beautiful on stage performing flawlessly and
care-freely, the taste buds were happy remembering the
delicious food, the songs, the dances, the dramas and the
musical extravaganzas were fantastic. In the end, the
internationally acclaimed artist Rezwana Chaudhury's
unforgettable Tagore songs brought a magical touch to every
mind.
We were graced by the presence of the past presidents,
bringing a lot of memories and a sense of achievement to
those who did the foundation for BAGA Thirty years ago.
