Public Lectures Held By Kriya Yoga Guru Paramahansa Atmananda
Kriya yoga guru Paramahansa Atmanandaji was in Atlanta from Nov 24 through Dec 8. Free public lectures were conducted at Georgia Tech, North Atlanta Shirdi Sai Baba temple and Emory University. Topics included managing thoughts, emotions and stress through Kriya yoga, Kriya Yoga and Bhagwat Geeta and its relevance in the modern world and how to get happiness and peace in life.
Many people attended these lectures with the renowned master and came to know about the science behind Kriya yoga. Guruji elaborated on some Kriya yoga techniques and their beneficial effects on calming the mind. He also explained the relevance of Bhagavat Geeta in the modern life and the importance of reading, understanding and practicing it in a day to day life.
Some new members joined the Kriya yoga family too.
“Usually, when we talk about spirituality we think of austerity, a life of penance, no family life, Himalayan caves etc,” a press note released by the group explained. “Guruji says that we need to lead a normal life and maintain a balance between our material and spiritual lives for a happy, prosperous and stress-free state of mind. Spirituality does not mean that you can't perform the duties of a householder.”
