Fall/Winter 2005

This season's makeup color palette is sensual and luxurious, says Renu.
NRIS! Do you know?
Winter is almost here; the weather’s turning cold and merciless towards sensitive skin. This is a good time to experiment with warm colors on your face to combat the winter blahs!! This season's makeup color palette is sensual and luxurious. Fall hues like plush plums and velvety browns are back in a big way, together with earthy shades of khaki greens and rust pinks. Make sure all your shades are shimmery – not sparkly. Sparkles look too harsh in winter light.

I love to recommend color palettes for my clients who do not invest a great deal of time in cosmetics, or who are not sure what colors to wear together. Palettes make color coordination a piece of cake and work for most skin shades. These rich, shimmery winter collections will take you through the season like the glamorous diva that you are!

Bobbi Brown's New Sexy Glamour Palette - This limited-edition sleek palette features Cassis Lip Color and three shades for eyes: Glacier, Pewter and Charcoal Eye Shadow.

Chanel's Holiday Collection - This fabulous compact is like having a professional makeup artist in your evening bag! A limited-edition quartet of fashion-right powder shadows dresses eyes, two sheer cream tones bring chic to cheeks and two glosses add shimmer and shine to lips for the most flattering holiday look.

For the Eyes
With Fall comes the quintessential smoky eyes. Create this sultry look with a new twist, using this season's favorite hues of purples or greens, instead of the usual grays and blacks. Eye shadow colors are rich, with bold shades of plums, burgundies, greens, coppers and browns. If you want something more neutral, choose softer shades like bisque, lavender, and rust pink.

Try MAC's Free To Be Eyes Eyeshadow Quad – Eyes are free to be - uniquely soft, frost-sparked and alluring - in this Naturally Eccentric eye shadow quad palette of: Sensibility, a soft pink with frost; Free To Be, a dirty grey blue; Crochet, a light neutral beige; and Smut, a charcoal with red frost.

Of course, you can’t forget mascara - DiorShow Mascara by Christian Dior is a rich, deeply pigmented mascara that has a large, full brush to give lashes that "just off the catwalk" look in just one coat. It’s never clumpy, always sexy.
Lips
Lip shimmer and gloss are still in for the gloss aficionado. Pucker up with shades from berries to mauves. But the glamorous siren red lipstick is reigning this season. But just remember, if you're going dark and smoky on the eyes, tone it down with a more subtle shade of lip color.

Try Chanel's Hydrabase Lipstick in Vamp or Red Ruffles (an amazing red for Indian skin tones)
Cheeks
To complement the eye and lip colors, go for blush with a hint of plum or apricot, or opt for a bronzer. Try Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge in Velvet Plum.
