Lord Sri Sita Rama Consecration at Hanuman Mandir, Alpharetta



With over 600 devotees chanting "Ram Chandra Bhagavan ki Jai", "Sita Maata ki Jai", thel Hanuman Mandir in Alpharetta, GA conducted Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam and Sri Srirama Pattabhishekam on March 4th 2012, in a grand celebration. This concluding activity was part of the four day ceremony to consecrate Lord Sri Rama, Sita, Lakshmana swamy and Dasa Hanuman at the mandir. Over the course of these four days, over 1200 devotees had participated in several consecration activities that took place at the Mandir. 

Many activities namely Prana Pratistha Shubharambh (Starting of entire event), Shobha Yatra, Snapan (Shower to the Lord), Maha Kumbha Kalasa Stapana, Havan, Murti Pran Pratistha, Purnahuti / Bhajan / Maha Aarti rituals were conducted at Hanuman Mandir between 1st March and 3rd March, with the final event of Sri Sita Rama Kalyana Utsavam and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam on 4th March at Hope Well Middle School, Alpharetta. 

The event started on Thursday 1st March, where the deities were brought from the houses of deity sponsors Sundar Garg and Ramesh Khajjayam with a Prana Pratistha Shubharambh (welcoming event) at Hanuman Mandir. On 2nd March, the main activities included Maha Kumbha Kalasa Stapana, Sri Rama Tharaka Mantra Homam, Moola Mantra Homam, Jalaadhivasam (deities were immersed in water) and Dhaynaadhivaasam (deities were immersed in dhanya).

On the penultimate day, 3rd March, in the morning, several activities including Sri Rama Nama Tharaka Manthra Homam, Ksheeradhivasam (deities were immersed in milk) took place. Later in the evening, Moola Mantra Homam and Sahasra nama (thousand names) puja were performed to Lord Sri Hanuman. The evening concluded with a very special Sayyadhivasam (deities on their beds in a relaxed position). During this ceremony several dance & songs were performed till midnight. Many devotees felt their hearts melt for being present to witness such a rare occasion. Several devotees commented that they had never felt such an experience and felt blessed to witness this “once in a lifetime” opportunity.



On the last day of the festivities a grand celebration of Sri Sita Rama Kalyana Utsavam and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam was held at Hope Well Middle School, Alpharetta. More than 600 devotees participated in this auspicious event, and felt that Sri Lord Rama and His Parivar blessed them. The program concluded with honoring the priests & sponsors with recognition for their efforts.

The program was conducted under the able guidance of priests Srimannarayana Puranam temple priest, Narasimhacharya Cherukupally from LA, Rama Krishna Narayanam from Ohio, Venkata Krishna Sai Swarna from Memphis, TN and Ramanujam Maharti, Vishakapatnam, India. 

The Nadaswaram performed by Ramana Tirumalakonda and Ramachandrudu Chinthakuntamuni who came from India especially for this event, mesmerized the devotees throughout the four days. 

Hanuman community and board members of Hanuman Mandir honored Sundar Garg – for not only sponsoring the deities but also for being a Maha Kalasa sponsor of the event. Ramesh Khajjayam was honored for Dasa Hanuman deity sponsorship. Motilal Mehra was honored for his sponsorship for Anna Danam (Lunch on final day). Smt. Laksmi was honored for Jewelry sponsorship. The temple board also thanked Prashant Kollipara (Bytegraph.com) for photos & video, Bindu Surapaneni & Sujitha Damidi (Arrive in Style) for their decoration, Ram Durvasula (RamDj.com) for sound. Board members also thanked to Ms. Patterson – Principal of Hopewell Middle School, City of Alpharetta & City of Milton for their support.

Board members thanked all the grand sponsors, event sponsors, Kalyanam sponsors, Anna Danam sponsors and Volunteers who worked hard and all the devotees who participated in a big number in making this event a grand success.

Several devotees also said that they are mesmerized with the beauty and details of the deities Upon the request of several devotees a building fund was also started to construct an independent Mandir in and around Alpharetta with an ambitious plan to complete it in 2 years. To reach this goal, local dance academy Nataraja Natyanjali lead by well-known Guru Neelima Gaddamanugu is planning to organize a grand Kuchpidi dance drama on Lord Hanuman to generate funds for the temple construction.
