The
Chiffon Factor
This is the season for sheer chiffons, says
Christine. |
|
Chiffon, a sheer
silk fabric, is this season's hottest trend. Cool on the
skin and soft to the touch, chiffon can be both elegant
and a tad risqué. Chiffon's lightweight texture conveys
a clean, innocent look- but you get to decide whether
you are going to be naughty or nice. Tucked, draped,
cinched, or ruffled, chiffon conforms to your shape. It
compliments the figure because it is a flattering fit,
and it does not cling excessively.

Chiffon garments
from saris, sundresses or even formal wedding attire can
add glamour or be toned down from dawn to dusk. After
months of layering for the cold season, Chiffon is the
perfect fabric to showcase that body you have worked on
all winter (remember those days at the gym when you did
that extra ten minutes on the treadmill because you knew
bathing suit season would be here before you knew it?).
Well nothing compliments your figure at those pool
parties like a chiffon sarong wrap.
Chiffon gives its wearer an opportunity to experiment
with separates to create their own unique style. The
fabric's pure functionality coupled with its ease of use
results in a multipurpose versatility that few textiles
can match. A diaphanous flowing chiffon dress in pastel
shades will not only make you look sexy, but it will
feel comfortable against your body on those long, hot,
humid summer months. Pairing separates like a ruffled
chiffon skirt with a simple cotton sleeveless blouse can
assure an aura of femininity without giving the
appearance that one is trying too hard. Need something
edgier? Try pairing a plunging neckline chiffon halter
top with satin pants; pair these with open-toe heels and
you are all set to dance away the night (ladies do not
forget that all important pedicure).
Put away that little black dress because this summer it
is all about bright and bold colors. Do not be afraid to
wear chiffon in kiwi, papaya, and berry. Wear chiffon to
the beach, to lunch, and yes, even to a formal dinner.
Keep cool and look hot with chiffon - it is definitely a
must have this season.
